Several months ago my wife and I found out our credit score was in the low 600’s. We were told in December of 2015 that with the current score we would not qualify for a home loan. At this time we started to do everything in our power to raise our credit score. We paid down credit cards, checked our credit report and even became authorized users on each other’s credit cards. We stumbled across Rent Reporters in February and immediately signed up.

Our lease payment was $1700 and was not being reported as positive credit. Once we signed up just a few days later I saw the rent we were paying show up on our credit report. Rent reporters also reported the rent for the amount of time we had been living in that address which was about 18 months. We immediately saw an improvement in our credit. Another area it helped us was with our underwriter. The underwriter who ultimately approved our loan was able to see from our credit report that we had been on time with our payments to our landlord. In June of this year we were able to close on our home. Rent reporters was a big factor in raising our credit score to 691 that helped us qualify with multiple banks. I would recommend Rent reporters to anyone looking to raise credit score.

Epic

I did not have a history of using credit, so my credit history and score were basically nonexistent. Without a credit score, life can be difficult – you can’t get what you need in life, like approval for unsecured credits card and a good deal on auto loans.

I came across RentReporters, and read the customer success stories and how their process works. I liked what I read, so decided to give them a try. I signed up in October 2016, and in about 3 weeks, I saw that my score went up. Today, my score has increased by 126 points, and 50 of those points are from RentReporters!

Frequently Asked Questions

Once your rental verification and landlord validation are complete, it generally takes about 5 business days for your credit report to be updated. Once your verification is complete, your rent history will appear on your credit report under the tradeline “RentReporters/Residence”.

Unfortunately the scoring models used by the bureaus are not published and therefore, we are unable to predict the affect on your score. However, we do expect that reporting a positive rent history will increase your credit score. It is not unusual for a score to increase by 50 points. Read what our customers are saying.

RentReporters is so confident that adding your on-time rent payments to your credit report will have such a significant impact, that if you’re not delighted with the initial increase in score, we will issue a refund. A refund request must be submitted to us within 48 hours from the time we notify you that your rental history has been added to your credit report. Please note that when a refund is processed, we’ll simultaneously be REMOVING your rental history from your credit report, which will also adjust your credit score back to where it would have been had the rent not been reported.

Nearly all the landlords and property managers we have worked with are happy to assist with the validation process. However unfortunately, if you landlord is unwilling to cooperate we are unable to report your rent history to the credit bureaus.
