Industry Veterans to Bolster Company’s Commitment to Strengthen Customer Satisfaction And Future Growth
PASADENA, CA – (October 14, 2016) –RentReporters, the leading rental history reporting company, today announced the executive appointments of John Simpson as Chief Executive Officer and Cynthia Kim to the newly created position as Vice President, Customer Happiness and Education.
“We are very fortunate to have individuals of this caliber as members of the RentReporters’ leadership team who will play integral roles in accelerating the company’s growth during an important time in our market,” said Peter Zarifes, Board Member and Investor. “Both John and Cynthia bring diversity of experience and complementary skills that will drive results. They share an entrepreneurial spirit and deep expertise in their individual fields that sync with where RentReporters is now and, more importantly, where we want to take the company.”
Prior to being named CEO, John played an integral role in RentReporters since 2013, when he joined as an investor and Board Member. Compelled by the opportunity to provide our country’s 100 million renters, particularly the 40 million who are credit invisible, the ability to improve or establish credit by paying their rent on time, he is now expanding his role to become CEO. John’s passion for innovation began at Deloitte where he rose to the executive position of partner. He went on to serve as founder and CEO of California Credits Group (CCG), a technology driven tax credit screening firm, and then as CEO and co-founder of HigherUp, an HR analytic solutions firm to empower small businesses.
Cynthia is charged with driving the overall corporate philosophy and actions toward creating a personal and productive experience for RentReporters’ customers and achieving exceptional customer satisfaction ratings. She is responsible for helping customers better manage their financial life through meaningful education tools and providing resources and support needed to maximize the value of their investment in RentReporters. Cynthia began her career at CCG and served most recently at HigherUp as Director of Client Service.
RentReporters, a leading rental history reporting company, is helping to redefine the calculation of credit scores in a way that reflects modern economic life for the 100M people in the US who have rent as their single major monthly expense. Monthly rent payments are highly correlated with the ability to repay debt in a timely manner, yet they have not been one of the historically accepted data sources for calculating credit scores.
RentReporters enables renters with no or low credit scores, as well as those who already have good or excellent scores – to proactively impact these scores simply by having their monthly rent payments automatically reported to TransUnion, one of the three major credit bureaus. This, along with the company’s credit education initiatives and transparent processes and customer service, creates a clear path for consumers to access and manage appropriate credit
