Good news – if you didn’t already know, your credit score could improve by 30 points, thanks to new scoring rules!
The three major credit reporting bureaus, TransUnion, Equifax and Experian, will now exclude all tax liens from credit reports. For most people, that means a credit score increase, and for some, as high as 30 points. And that credit score boost can be life changing for some people – it could mean that you are now approved for a home mortgage, get a better deal on an auto loan, and receive offers for a “regular” credit card!
And if you’re a renter, did you know that you can nurture your credit score by having your on time rent payments reported to the credit bureaus? Solutions like RentReporters can help you build and improve your score by reporting your payments to TransUnion.
